I assume that we design icons using 24px and 30px grids for usage in Android and iOS Apps
respectively and most of these icons are gonna be related to categories like UI, Networks, etc.
For instance, for a category like Food, do the developers/designers (specifically mobile apps) look for icons built on 24px and 30px grids? or they simply do not care about the details?
I'm trying to create a family of food icons (1500+ icons) in the 4 major styles in my spare time.
I plan to design them on 24px and 30px grids. Because:
I plan to design them in a very basic style (with just the bare minimum details required),
I assume 24px grids would perfectly suit this.
I would be able to pitch the icons to mobile app developers / designers (given my assumption that
these developers / designers care for icons being built on 24px and 30px grids holds true)
Do you think it is a good idea or I should probably reconsider it going with normal 32px or 64px grids?
Kindly correct my assumptions if they are wrong. I know that some of the doubts might be very simple / basic. Please bare with me and kindly help me out! Thanks! 🙂
