if name of family is generic word? will it still search for family only?
Generic family names like "UI icons vol 3" will have a hard time bringing any value to the search results. Users won't have a unique name to remember and the name of the family will not outrank if icons have similar tags like "UI". We'll need to see how users use this, but good family names are "Picons", "Streamline", "Leto" ... easy to spell, easy to remember.
will be family names brand protected from this point of view?
Iconfinder can't offer any protection from a legal point of view, but just as with icons, the family name and overall profile of the designer should be unique. We have policies in place for icons and that includes the naming of families also. As usual, our policy is that we encourage designers to find their own style. You can learn from the top sellers, but you have to bring something unique to the table.
if name is few words like "ikooni outline" "ikooni flat", will search show both family result by "ikooni ..."?
Yes, both would show up for "ikooni".
Families called by styles only, if to add some unique word could be found both same icons in 1 search 🙂
Thank you for the questions and feedback so far!
